PROJECTS - Clearwater Christian College
As part of a 3-year building program, the final project for Steele Hall, a men's residence and science classroom building, proved the most challenging. The architect was released late to start the design process although the facility needed to be open by August of the following year. Hennessy, working with the Project Team, created and maintained a schedule that allowed for a 7-1/2 month construction process.
Prior to the start of construction, the U. S. Army Corp. of Engineers ordered a work stoppage at the site until the site plan was modified to preserve the wetlands at the edge of the property. Hennessy successfully negotiated with the Corp. to resolve the set back issues and provided the labor to remove existing undesirable foliage.
The work was completed in record time and the required completion date was met. The project was also completed under budget with a guaranteed maximum price savings split for the College.
