This new 19,126 square foot building was constructed during the school year with classes in session. The last phase of St. Mary's master plan for their campus, it provides much needed space for theatrical productions, school assemblies, and new offices for St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
The new building has a large lobby with restrooms and an auditorium with 21 foot ceilings that can accommodate 500 seats. A sound booth, lighting platform, elevated stage, full service kitchen, storage areas for chairs and tables, green room and maintenance areas behind the stage complete the amenities. Sliding operable partitions allow the center to be divided into smaller venues to accommodate concurrent events for the school's busy activity calendar.
Built of CMU with structural steel mansard trusses and a concrete tile and built-up roof system, the new multipurpose activity center has exterior stucco finishes that match the other buildings on campus, providing an esthetically pleasing environment for learning.
